Regional leaders want U.S. 421 designated as future interstate

Burlington lands ‘Project Fiber,’ bringing new HQ and 33 new jobs to Triad

National OnDemand, a provider of installation and construction services for the broadband and telecommunications industries, has selected downtown Burlington for its headquarters. New state laws bring tax breaks, other changes in 2019

The final phase of the 2013 tax overhaul takes effect in tax year 2019. The state’s personal income tax rate will drop from 5.499 percent to 5.25 percent, while the corporate tax rate sees a bigger decline, from 3 percent to 2.5 percent, the lowest rate in the country among states that impose a corporate income tax.
