Truliant Federal Credit Union to Hire More Workers in the Triad

Truliant Federal Credit Union is expanding its workforce with a pledge to hire more than 100 employees during 2022. The Winston-Salem-based credit union said the additional workers are needed foremost in its technology and products and services areas. which include mortgage lending, insurance, indirect auto lending and business lending. About half of the jobs are projected to be based in the Triad. When the hiring is completed, Truliant will have about 920 employees, including about 720 in the Triad.

RPM Wood Finishes Group to Locate in Greensboro

RPM Wood Finishes Group will invest $25 million in a new Greensboro facility. The new facility will create 53 new jobs that pay an average of $70,000. The company makes finishing products for things like wooden furniture, wooden floors, fabrics, and more.
RPM’s new facility on Thorndike Road will occupy 60,000 square feet of office and lab space. It will be used for product research and development.

Nordfab Americas to Expand in Thomasville; Invest $5.5 million and Create 25 Jobs

Nordfab Americas, a manufacturer of dust collection ducting for commercial and industrial applications will expand its Thomasville manufacturing facilities with a $5.5 million investment and create 25 new jobs. The company will expand its production and warehouse space from 87,000 square feet to 141,000 square feet.
The new jobs created will include assembly personnel, engineers, management and support staff. Although the wages will vary for each position, the average annual salary for the new positions is $45,840. Davidson County’s overall average annual wage is $45,117. The company currently employs 150 in Thomasville.

BrassCraft Manufacturing to Expand in Thomasville; Invest $13 million and Create 100 jobs

BrassCraft Manufacturing Co., a leader in the design manufacturing and distribution of plumbing products, will invest more than $13 million and create nearly 100 jobs to expand its manufacturing operations in Thomasville.
“The Thomasville team is critical to delivering the quality and craftsmanship that plumbers and contractors have come to expect from BrassCraft products,” said BrassCraft President Tom Assante. “Expansion of this facility is an investment in our people, our brand and U.S. manufacturing.”
New positions will include assembly personnel, engineers, management and support staff, creating a potential payroll impact of more than $4.5 million per year. Davidson County’s average annual wage is $42,274.

Boom Supersonic Selects Piedmont Triad for Superfactory

Boom Supersonic, the company building the world’s fastest and most sustainable supersonic airliner, announced plans to build the Overture Superfactory that will serve as its primary manufacturing and production site in Greensboro, N.C. The new facility, which will be located at Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTI), builds upon the state’s storied legacy of aerospace innovation, starting with the Wright Brothers’ first successful flight in Kitty Hawk, Honda Aircraft Company’s world headquarters and HondaJet manufacturing operation in Greensboro.

By 2030, the Overture Superfactory will create more than 1,750 new jobs and will bring an investment of more than $500 million at the site. The average salary at the facility will be $68,792, which is more than 25 percent higher than the overall annual wage of $53,994 in Guilford County, N.C. in 2021. North Carolina economists estimate that the Overture Superfactory will grow the state’s economy by at least $32.3 billion over 20 years.
“Selecting the site for Overture manufacturing is a significant step forward in bringing sustainable supersonic air travel to passengers and airlines,” said Blake Scholl, founder and CEO of Boom Supersonic. “With some of the country’s best and brightest aviation talent, key suppliers, and the state of North Carolina’s continued support, Boom is confident that Greensboro will emerge as the world’s supersonic manufacturing hub.”
